YOUTH on the MOVIE giornata conclusiva del meeting internazionale Lecce, 21/29 agosto 2015 Si è concluso con un workshop presso le Officine Cantelmo il progetto "YOUTH ON THE MOViES" promosso dall'associazione YouthMed. Il progetto "YOUTH ON THE MOViES" è uno scambio giovanile, sostenuto dal programma della Commissione Europea "Erasmus Plus", tra 32 partecipanti, dai 20 ai 30 anni, provenienti da Italia, Turchia, Tunisia e Polonia, che si tiene a Lecce dal 21 al 29 agosto 2015. "YOUTH ON THE MOViES" intende fornire un'occasione concreta di incontro e di dialogo tra i giovani della regione euro-mediterranea che portano il proprio background e i propri punti di vista in un confronto sereno e costruttivo con i propri coetanei, attraverso il linguaggio universale dell'arte e del cinema in particolare. Le recenti vicende di attualità ricollocano nel Mediterraneo e nel Medio Oriente le maggiori sfide europee per la pace, la sicurezza e la convivenza pacifica con le minoranze, i migranti e la diverse culture e religioni che compongono la regione euro-mediterranea. Il confronto dialettico e lo scambio e il confronto tra Islam e Cristianesimo/Laicità, Oriente e Occidente, Nord e Sud del Mediterraneo può trasformarsi in aperto scontro e in terrorismo se alimentato da estremismi, razzismi, xenofobie, discriminazioni, intolleranze e mancanza di conoscenza e dialogo tra le parti. Il progetto è stato ideato da Youthmed e dai suoi partners per contrastare la diffusione del clima di odio e diffidenza e di immagini stereotipate dell'altro tra I popoli dell'Europa e del Mediterraneo e per contribuire a formare un cittadino europeo aperto alla diversità desideroso di costruire una società inclusiva in grado di rispettare le minoranze culturali, religiose e linguistiche. I principali obiettivi dello scambio sono: - Promuovere la conoscenza reciproca, il dialogo interculturale tra i giovani della regione euro mediterranea coinvolti; - Contribuire a sviluppare nei giovani la capacità di ragionamento aperto e problematico che li abitui ad analizzare i diversi punti di vista e a contrastare l'immagine stereotipata dell'altro, i pregiudizi e la diffidenza nel confronto con la diversità; -Sviluppare nei giovani maggiore consapevolezza delle problematiche del proprio paese e degli aspetti in comune alle altre società della regione euro-mediterranea e promuovere la cittadinanza attiva, il senso di iniziativa, la creatività e un impegno fattivo e concreto verso il cambiamento. Alla giornata conclusiva è intervenuto il dirigente della sede di Lecce dell'ADISU Puglia che ha pronunciato il breve indirizzo di saluto che qui riportiamo: Good morning I am very pleased to be here, I would like to thank Mrs. Rubeis and Mr. Pulieri for the invitation to this last day of the project Youth on the Movies that has given us the possibilities to discuss about very important topics like migration, condition of women, social and political crisis. It is a great pleasure to bring greetings on behalf of Adisu to Mr. Vincenzo ZARA and to Mr Domenico Laforgia . Many Greetings to Alessandro Delli Noci and Marco Cataldo. Welcome prof. Rizzi. Only few words to introduce Adisu. Adisu is a branch of Regione Puglia and is involved in the management of various kinds of facilities for the students of UNISALENTO. We apply the policies of Regione Puglia about the right to higher education. We manage four Case dello Studente (I don't really like the word dormitory), four Student Restaurants, we assign every year thousands of grants to students who are worthy but have no means in order to let them follow study courses. We support the projects promoted by the students to increase the quality of life in the city and very often we cooperate with students associations to realize actions that can create strong links between cultures and different sensitiveness. Since a few years during summer we open our Case dello Studente to students coming from abroad. This year we have the pleasure to also host the young people of the project Youth on the movies, led by YOUTHMED. We hope they enjoyed their stay in Lecce, Capitale italiana della Cultura per il 2015, and I am sure they enjoyed the musical melting pot during La notte della Taranta, traditional mood of our country. The opportunity to host the group has been very important for our organization and has shown us the suitability of our facilities to host people not belonging to our region or metropolitan area. An efficient network of public facilities is really important to support projects like this, aimed to find new policies to establish peace and to set peaceful relationships between people ad States. We are living a tragic time in our history. YOUTH on the MOVIES gave to a focused group of young people a concrete opportunity to meet and discuss relevant issues like migration, condition of women, peaceful coexistence with minorities and other religions. I think it has been a very important opportunity for our community. It's important to believe in the strength of dialogue and democracy, which grew up from tolerance and solidarity. A few days ago I read on a news magazine that according to the last Burston Masteller Arab Young Survey, young Arabian people don't dream of democracy anymore. Arabian spring, in the statement of BM, is over. Especially in the hearts of young people who lived the hope of Tahrir Square and the jasmine revolution. Is it true ? Maybe. From a certain perspective those facts look very far by this time. The widening of social troubles in several Mediterranean countries is a huge risk for the peace of the whole world, like Mr. Sergio Mattarella, President of our Republic, recently said. The landing of thousands of people on the shores of Italy and Greece, the astonishing facts happened in Austria, in the hearth of Europe, are an increasing challenge that forced the European Union to face a critical and urgent situation on which solution will depend the future of democracy and the peace in Mediterranean area. I haven't seen any of the films from the project and I apologize for that, but I think that the real success of this experience depends on the fact that its spirit, in my opinion, is the shared consciousness that the real movie we have to play every day, day after day, is our real life, in which we must play very proud and courageous characters and that need to feature a story built on values such as tolerance, democracy, solidarity.
